Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Her modelling career began in Italy which is where she was raised and born in California. Her acting debut came at the age of 16 in The TV movie Her Costly Affair. It was a long road for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller part. This was not easy for Amy since she needed to move from modelling into acting. Models aren't regarded as the best actors so they tend to be given smaller roles that aren't very important. Amy was determined to keep trying. She climbed the ladder to bigger roles. She began with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In 2005, she took on the lead role in the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized for her efforts throughout the previous 10 years. Amy was in several big movies in the Crank trilogy opposite Jason Statham. And she had a part in a series of recurring roles on The Shameless series.
