Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a native of Canada and actress from New Zealand. Born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington the city where she was born, she had her first appearance as an actor on screen in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at 11 years old, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian born New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded the Academy Award for best support actress. Her performance as the talkative and inquisitive girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) was the reason she won the prize. As a result of an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance in the film as Jane Eyre when she was only a child. Paquin played a minor role in the TV film of 1997 adaption to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The actress played teens as teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) as well as A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
